Jibarra in Raleigh?
Fellow Hounds,
I just looked at Jibarra's (www.jibarra.net) menu. It looks pretty promising. Looks similar to the kind of upscale Mexican restaurant you'd find in Mexico City in, say, the Condesa neighborhood or Polanco neighborhood.
I'm interested in finding out more about this place, among other things, since not long ago I was wondering if the area was ready for upscale Mexican food. So I was wondering what you folks had to say about it. Too bad I am so badly broke right now... maybe in a couple of weeks I'll be able to make a trip there and report back.

We went a couple months ago and enjoyed it very much. Awesome cocktails and tasty food. I would actually love to eat there with you and hear your thoughts. Triangle Hound Dinner #2?

I was there a couple of months ago. Definitely worth a try. Food was inventive and ambitious and mostly very good. It's in North Raleigh, and I'm not sure that's a great location for it. Sadly, place was nearly empty when I was there (Friday night), and again several weeks later when I a friend of mine visited (Saturday). So go check it out while you can.
