Har Gow at Great Eastern, San Francisco

On Friday, we took Mom and Dad to Great Eastern for a quick dim sum lunch. Here you use a check off list to order. Small plates have gone up to $2.20 since Ruth and I were there. Medium is priced at $2.80; large at $3.20; and specials are $4.80, $6.00 and up.
The best item was #9 shrimp dumplings (har gow), 4 to an order here for $2.80. These were better than I remember from before. At Great Eastern they're priced as a Medium rather than Large, making them a better value.
To sum up what we tried,
#33 - deep fried seaweed roll with fish (M), overfried and dried out rubbery mess
#38 - panfried turnip cake (M), browned and crisped nicely but lacking flavor or much meat or turnip
#3 - steamed chicken claws (S), underdone and overly garlicky
#17 - steamed beef book tripe (M), cut too coarsely, undercooked and tough
#2 - steamed spareribs (S), a bit too soft but good flavor
#12 - steamed fish balls with vegetables (M), checked the wrong line and got this by mistake, very tender and loose textured, strong white pepper element, comfort food
#22 - sticky rice in lotus leaf (M), didn't taste as ordered "to go" for my sister, who said that they were good
#50 - deep fried bean curd skin rolls with shrimps (L), crispy and light without being tough, good quality shrimp
#51 - rice roll stuffed with beef (L), chewy tender rice crepe filled with cilantro-scented ground beef, good seasoned soy sauce
#9 - shrimp dumplings aka har gow (M), thin translucent tender wrappers, sweet succulent whole shrimp with a bit of bamboo shoot, delicately seasoned
