Last week, they still just had vanilla. Has anyone been lately?

I was there last night, just vanilla. They said green tea and strawberry maybe next week.

Dangerously good! and dangerously close to home!

I called yesterday to ask if they were serving the chocolate eclairs yet. The lady that answered said that If I told her what time I was coming in, she would have some chococlate eclairs ready. She sounded sincere but I did not take her up on her offer.

Call and ask if they will do it for you:

Yes, they had chocolate and vanilla a couple of days ago. I wonder why they were back to vanilla only yesterday? (And, to be a little contrarian, we didn't really like the chocolate all that much--OTOH the vanilla was pretty luscious--although the recent chocolate bar thread on the General Board established that everyone's chocky tastes are different.)

YIPPEE!!!! Girl, you MUST try the molten chocolate cakes!!! Not cream puffs at all, more like an individual warm chocolate truffle cake. In the past we had them shipped from the Beard Papas in NY!

I had a chocolate one last night (about 9:15pm - after they had already 'closed' - apparently open and closed is not a binary condition at Beard Papas :) ).

I, too, was not that impressed with the chocolate filling. Not intense enough - and since the vanilla filling is so good, I see no reason to repeat the chocolate cream puff experiment. Now, when they start selling those chocolate truffle cakes I have read about, that's a different story.

Igi -- "...open and closed is not a binary condition..." -- WELL SAID! I have also noticed this, but couldn't have said it better!

I don't know how I could have missed those chocolate truffle cakes, because we have become well acquainted with several other Beard Papas. Do the other shops offer this chocolate cake as well? I guess this is a case of distraction...I just can't get beyond the vanilla cream puff!

Liu...HI! Yes, all the other shops sell them. My daughter is obsessed with them. They're 1.80, and seriously, the best dessert, bar none, ever. I will check and see if they have them yet. And by the way, Susiecakes isn't open yet!

Cupcake, and hello to YOU! At the oddest times during the day, perhaps while driving to the gym, I burst out laughing about YOU and Susicakes...I haven't forgotten!

Sooo, I need to try these chocolate cakes...

                      My best to you!

I just called them and asked about the chocolate cake. I think there was a bit of a language problem. The very nice man said " I believe we have them." Hmmmm..will see for myself on Saturday.
