There's a Persian grocery another 20 minutes to the south in Plantation. It's called Nu Taste and it's in the same small plaza as Caspian Persian Grill. 7817 W. Sunrise Blvd, (954) 382-4026.

We went there just this weekend and picked up a cookbook (Batmanglij's "A Taste of Persia"), some advieh, sour cherries, pomegranate molasses and a couple of other things. The peach khoresh was a winner and we're debating whether to do the abalu palau or the pomegranate khoresh next.

They have a decent selection of packaged spices, dried fruit items and the like. They also usually have both Turksih and Iranian pistachios.. and sometimes they even have nougat from Isfahan, not just the Fard stuff with California pistachios.

If you're looking for specific stuff, though, you should probably call ahead. For instance, they didn't have dried sour cherries, just jars of them.
