Birthday dinner in Orange county

Any suggestions for a good place for dinner with some friends ( age range-30's) and with family together? A fun atmosphere, with good food.
Some recs have been Maggiano's at South Coast, but anything else?

Depending on what you want to spend, I recently took my mom to French 75 in Irvine for her 50th. The atmosphere is between fun and serious (if that makes sense), they had a jazz trio on a Saturday evening. We had a 7:30 res and the place pretty much shut down around 9:30 p.m. Food was good -- not knock your socks off, but definitely good.

I went to French 75 for my company's X-mas party, not a B-day, and it seemed to work out well, and everyone enjoyed it. We had about 15-20 people at our party. I had the proscuitto-wrapped scallops, and they were fabulous.

I was taken there for my birthday and I loved it. The food is good, the atmosphere better. I've been there a few times since, and although they don't have the Three Way Duck anymore, I find their Moules Frites awesome! But who can go wrong with steamed mussels with wine and fries!

Here's the review of my birthday trip with photos:

Memphis on Bristol has some decent comfort food and a good atmosphere.

Also, nearby Habana. Call to reserve outside seating.
