Casual Dinner - Thinking Pizza, Wine and Beer

Having a casual dinner with some pals tonight (3 of us) and I was hoping to get a recommendation from the list. Looking for something like Otto but not at such a frenetic pace. Good pizza, beer and wine list at a good price. Looking for a something downtown: west village preferably.

  1. I've heard good things about the pizzas at Gonzo, but I haven't gotten a chance to try it myself.

    1. Gonzo's pizza is excellent and the atmosphere is way more hushed than at Otto. Vento is another option - not as expensive as you'd expect and a nice selection of cheeses, meats, antipasti etc.

      1. What about Arturo's? I haven't been to Gonzo. How do they compare?

Gonzo is more upscale. A restaurant with menu items other than pizza: cocktails, desserts, etc.

          Arturo's is more like a Lombardi's.

Not that that's a bad thing.
