On restaurant row, directly, there's Orso. I've only had lighter fare there and can't recall where the entrees fall price wise, but I would guess it's about your range.
And on 44th and 9th there's Marseille, which is wonderful!
I haven't made my way to Le Madeleine yet, but would like to, and hear very good things.
Enjoy the theatre and dinner!

I have always enjoyed Le Madeleine (I've butchered the spelling) at 43rd & 9th. The food is reasonably priced (I think their salmon dish is superb) and they have a neat indoor garden.
For more American fare, with a hip vibe, 44 X 10 (not surprisingly at 44th & 10th) is a nice option.

Actually, you've gotten the spelling of Le Madeleine exactly right! :-) And I agree it's a good choice. I've also had the salmon, and it is delicious.
The very popular Becco is, of course, on Restaurant Row. However, my last experience there was *very* disappointing with regard to the pastas on the ayce menu. And, the noise level was horrendous!!
Also on Restaurant Row is Lattanzi. I've never managed to eat there, but it has the reputation for having very good food (there's universal agreement that the fried artichokes are not to be missed) and nice atmospherics.
Another good option in that vicinity is Cascina, on 9th Av., b/t 45th & 46th Sts. I have eaten there. Nicely prepared Italian food and pleasant surroundings.

re: RGR
I'm sorry to hear about your recent disappointment with Becco. As for noise level, lately I've been preferring the 2nd floor... I've found it is a lot quieter. Unfortunately, I think Lidia Bastianich has been sadly distracted by the insanity that is Del Posto. My last experience at Felidia's left a lot to be desired. Lidia get back in the kitchen PLEASE!
