I agree that Mandoo Bar isn't much of a dining destination in K-Town, but if you are going, I second the fried tofu recommendation -- I ordered it at Nosher's suggestion and really liked it. It is very delicately fried and subtle in taste. It is probably worth exploring some of the other non-Mandoo options as well.

Kun Jip is my reigning favorite for general Korean. My standard order (Pork Bulgogi, Soontubu Chigae, Kalbi and Sancha Bibimbop) is always delicious. I also think that the panchan are solid.

I think the mandoo at mandoo bar is pretty crap. I lived in Korea for over a decade and like my mandoo dough to be thinner.

My favorite Ktown restaurants are KunJip (for reliable, cheap variety) and KangSuh for BBQ.

Well, Mandoo Bar isn't my favorite place in Koreatown, but there are some good dishes there. We like the fried tofu appetizer and the seafood mandoo best, although all the mandoo are very good. We wrote about the place on our site several months ago if you want to see pictures.

I agree w/both these recs. Pork mandoo was the worst of the bunch for me.
