sushi grade salmon?

star Jul 11, 2006 06:40 PM

Where can I buy sushi grade salmon for making sushi at home? I know of several fish stores that have sushi quality salmon... However, the fish has not been frozen so it is not ready to be eaten as sushi. Any tips on where to go for sushi grade salmon would be most appreciated!

I agree with Kenito - check out Sunrise Mart. http://www.yelp.com/biz/lzUYHrrJ9zvpf...

Citarella should have good wild Pacific salmon now. Go grab some.

do not go to sunrise! they're (in)famous in teh japanese community for having horrible fish and meats!
the prepacked fish is sometimes an odd color and really fishy! gross!!
i would recommend asking your sushi bar/restaurant chef to sell you a piece. usually they will (if you're a regular)

Try Eli's Market place or wild edibles ...
