Afternoon Tea

viperlush Jul 10, 2006 03:00 PM

I'm looking for a place to go for afternoon tea (scone, pastry, finger sandwich, etc.) during the week in DC. Preferably in the Georgetown area but any place located near the metro is ok. Any suggestions?

I know The Ritz in Georgetown has an afternoon tea but I believe it is only on the weekends.

Check at The Willard as I believe they have one as well that may be during the week.

The Washingtonian did a spread on places to go for tea in the area a while back. You can probably find it on their website.

        There's a bunch listed here : http://www.teaguide.net/tearoomswashi...

I can personally vouch for the afternoon tea at the Mayflower.

Had afternoon tea at the Jefferson last fall and enjoyed it!

Strathmore is in Rockville/North Bethesda, but it's right next to the Metro. They have tea during the week. http://www.strathmore.org/eventsticke...
