Punto Fijo Peruvian (moved from Manhattan Board)

yo, for peruvian food, could you leave your silly island? punto fijo on Northern Blvd (in the 80s) will fulfill all your cravings.

    I've been to Punto Fijo a few times and have not been disappointed. Their fried Calamari is outstanding, and it comes along with some yucca (cassava) fries. They serve it along with a creamy green hot sauce as well as a pinkish sweet sauce. The calamari has a distinct criollo flavor that separates it from the traditional Italian version of fried calamari.

      Here was my reply on what to try (from the former thread);

      89-12 Northern Blvd 718-205-2282.
      Ceviche tiradito; antecuchos (grilled thin slices of cow heart--excellent with the green aji sauce); jalea (mixed seafood fried) or get just fried chunks corvina; papas a la huancaina; if they have it definitely get carapulcra-made with kind of dry-aged potatoes--classic serrano food; i haven't tried the tallarin saltado but given the general quality I bet it's good.
