Favorite Seafood - Morro Bay

shedders Jul 8, 2006 07:33 PM

I'm looking for a great seafood dinner, not fish and chips, in Morro Bay. I have read good suggestions here in the past, but I can't find them now. Price is not important.

We liked Windows on the Water. Expensive, but worth it.

Windows on the Water has an excellent fish menu. My favorite is Albacore Tataki Style, although the Sand Dabs are great in season.

We went to dinner just a few days after my original post and went to Windows on the Water. This was before Stan's post, but oddly enough my husband had the Albacore Tatki Style and I had the Sand Dabs. Both were great. The evening was very nice and we were there through sunset, at least it got dark, this place might have been called Windows on the Foggy Water for as often as Morro Bay has fog. It was still beautiful. Thanks.

My favorite in Morro Bay for fresh, well prepared, seafood is the Dockside Restaurant. It's family owned - the husband is a local fisherman. Most choices are under $20. The atmosphere is casual with snap shots of fishermen, fishing boats, and their catch under glass on the tables and the servers wear Dockside T shirts. Their wine list is limited.

Another good choice is Taco Temple if you'd enjoy fresh seafood tacos. One is a delicious meal for about $10.

I second Taco Temple but it is NOT a fine dining establishment. It is very casual, cash only and very good IMO.
