Had dinner at the new Sparrow restaurant last night. It's in the space that was occupied by Watergate on top of Nob HIll. The room hasn't changed much as far as decor. Thought it was an excelllent experience both for the food and the service. It's pretty much Japanese/French.

Appetizers were outstanding including a butter poached lobster, a couple of raw dishes. All that we tried were excellent. Entrees were venison serviced with a fresh moral sauce. It was cooked medium rare and was simply outstanding. My wife had the lamb which was two double thick 5-spice coated loin chops that were just perfect. There was also pheasant on the menu and veal osso buco, both of which sound super.

Wine list is probably a work in progress.

Passed on dessert, too full.

Most of the apps were in the $11-$15 range I believe. Entrees were mostly mid 20's. We certainly felt we got our monies worth.
