A little north of there, Goode Company on Kirby is a reliable old standby for good barbecue; Goode Company Taqueria across the street has great burgers and some good Tex-Mex (try the grilled catfish, it makes great tacos with the accompanying tortillas and refrieds), and Goode Company Seafood around the corner from there has excellent shrimp.
