Fisherman's Wharf

Are there any decent restaurant's on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco? Would love to have some fresh, well-prepared fish. I've heard it's all fairly touristy.

Thank you. I appreciate your response.

    2. At Pier 39 I have gotten decent and not overly priced seafood at Pier Market Seafood Restaurant.

You are the second person who gave a positive mention of Peir Market recently. I was getting a little discouraged at restaurant quality at Pier 39 and that may have been the reason that I didn't give it a try. I'll stop by the next time I'm in the area and check it out. Thanks

I'm visiting the area and I have had two meals at Pier Market in the last four days. I was willing the first time. The seafood is fresh but it's ordinary and it's not a very consistent place (service included). During the first visit my friend had mussels with a red curry/cilantro broth that she loved; the second time it was just so-so. We did have the smoked salmon bruscetta which was very fresh and flavorful.

It's not a memorable place but it's easier to get a table and the prices are cheap compared to most of the Pier.

Thanks so much for the informative update. The smoked salmon bruscetta sounds good. Too bad about the consistancy issue though.

So ... you ate there? You ate at Fisherman's Wharf with so many better places in the City ... I'm JOKING ... glad to see you stopped lurking and are hanging in there. Looking forward to more reports. This was helpful info.

Have you tried any other places on Pier 39?

Oh, I forgot to mention that I was shocked at the restrooms (which I saw just before leaving, second time around). Tissue everywhere, water all over the counters, white rags on top of the towel dispensers. I just hope those rags were for the counter and not the tables!

Yikes. It almost sounds like the manager had a day off on that second visit.
