Tea in Philadelphia for Mom's bday?

Want to take my mom and the ladies to tea for her bday, but 4 Seasons is booked. Have been to Rittenhouse but after the 4 Seasons tea, found it sub par in their attention to detail. Ritz Carlton does not do tea during the summer. Any ideas? Some place I am missing or something similar she may enjoy on a weekend afternoon downtown? Or a gem in the 'burbs I have missed? TIA.

Hummm, maybe you can go there:

    PREMIUM STEAP
    111 S 18th Street
    Philadelphia, Pa 19103
    tel: (215) 568-2920

It used to be the Tea Salon in Wayne but they have relocated next to Rittenhouse Square. The place is small but you might be able to get a seat upstairs.

If you are interested in something a little different, Margaret Kuo does Mandarin High Tea with Dim Sum at her locations in the suburbs.
