Brattleboro bkfst w/good coffee

We'll be staying in Brattleboro one night on our way to Northern Vermont and would love a delicious breakfast with good strong coffee! Two kids in tow, so we would like something not too far from town, preferably in town. I've read a bit about Royal Diner (?) but some mixed reviews. Thanks.

Mocha Joe's is to-die-for coffee. I love their breve (its a latte made with half n half). There's also a bakery across and a little further up the street - Amy's Bakery Arts. And if you walk up a little farther, there's a tiny corner park with benches.

If cofee is your #1 priority I would go to the Brattleboro Food Co-op or Mocha Joes (both downtown) for a continental breakfast. The Chelsea Royal Diner is a nice old diner, good atmosphere, good food but not gormet.
