San Antonio: Recs Needed for Semi-Retirement Dinner

JudiAU Jul 6, 2006 12:49 AM

I am visiting San Antonio next week and need to take out three people for dinner. One person is leaving my firm after 17 years and moving to a new city. We are treating this as a semi-retirement. She is not really chowish and may be intimidated by "fancy" restaurants. On the other hand, I think she would appreciate (and even expect) a "fancy" restaurant. The other guest is chowish. Budget is around $50/pp. Suggestions?

Our office is near the Riverwalk and we willing probably dine on the early side.

You can never go wrong with good chow, but it sometimes helps if you have an idea what kind of flavors and service you are looking for. Here is a recent thread that started with someone looking for expense account restaurants near the Riverwalk. There are a variety of good suggestions there, some fancier than others. http://www.chowhound.com/topics/show/...

More suggestions and comments can be found by searching a bit on the Texas board.
