Best New Gadjet - Corn Zipper

Best new gadjet in my kitchen right now is the corn zipper by Kuhn Rikon. It has a smiley faceon one side and actually zips the corn without cutting into the cob. Found it at the Viking store in St. Louis, also available at

  1. I love Kun Rikon products it seems that they are so well thought out and designed. I will have to look for that. I had a corn cutter and don't know what happened to it. It was not a wonderful tool and in many ways dangerous, I was always cutting myself on it. It was a circular cutter that would expand to fit and close over an ear of corn with very sharp teeth and you kind of twist cut your way down. My corn always had some pink spots in it from my sacrifice. Since I fell in love with maques choux a year ago I am always cutting the corn from the cob and have been doing it with a big knife. Funny, the other day I was thinking of posting a query if anyone had a good corn cutter to recommend.

      1. Used mine for the first time today -- was really impressed! If you like corn, you've gotta get one of these things.

        1. I just got one too! I love it.
