Cercle Rouge
Has anyone eaten at Cercle Rouge in Tribeca? Any recommendations on what to order? Thanks--any info would be greatly appreciated!

While I can't defend the bad service Augie had there, I've eaten at Cercle Rouge several times for dinner and brunch and have only had good experiences there. They revamped the menu a few months ago from a faux-Craft-like style (separate sauces, meats, sides) to a very straightforward French bistro menu. I particularly like the steak tartare and mussels. You can find a lot of well-priced wines on the list and the waitstaff is quintessentially French without being snooty.
Love Landmarc, too, but the two places serve very different food (despite its claim, I don't really consider Landmarc to be a "bistro" in the classic sense) and are two different experiences, in my opinion.

I seldom can't find at least one good thing about a restaurant, with a couple exceptions, one of which is Cercle Rouge. My night there was limited to about an hour based on how poorly wine service was handled but the hand writing was all over the walls my advice for best thing to do would be, go to Landmarc.
