China Villa Restaurant, Union City report (w/ pics)
Three of us had lunch on 7/4/06 at China Villa Restaurant. I heard about the Fujian style fish ball soup from chowhound vliang: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/show/45979?user_name=&query=china+villa%2C+union+city so I had to try it.
We ordered Fujian-style fish ball soup $5.95. We thought the fish ball was ok but the soup was just boring and too much sesame oil and plain.
We also got string beans w/ pork-good, but too much onions.
Oyster claypot-had about 4 fried oysters in a dark brown sauce, fried tofu, and some bbq pork. Just ok.
xlb-I shouldn't have gotten it, but ordered it anyways-it's a bad version-no soup in the dumpling, and not tasty at all.
Steam chicken w/ ginger and onions-not a good version-kind dry w/ only a little bit of meat.
Probably didn't order very well, so might be back for steamed fish, beef stew clay pot; chow mein; chow fun; house special pan fried noodle; onion pancake, soy milk; or noodle soups. 3 items $16.50; steam rice $2.10; and they take credit card, plus they deliver w/ minimum purchase of $20.
