Please separate Hong Kong from China.

Not for political reason, but I see no discussion of HK restaurants in the China board. HK is one of the world's greatest culinary cities.

I think we'll have to be patient -- looks like the whole midwest is still lumped together.

The reason for not seeing any HK posts might have nothing to do with the fact that it's lumped together with China -- Paris is heavily discussed, but it doesn't have it's own board.

At the moment there are 24 posts on the China board. Six are about Hong Kong and one is about Hong Kong AND China by someone traveling to both. Let me tell you, I don't need the aggravation of hearing a minder say "please split this post into two separate boards."

Exactly, not having its own board is not an impediment to discussion.

I strongly disagree on the grounds that the merits of HK cuisine vis a vis that of major mainland cities does not warrant it. However, the debate I was almost sucked into belongs on another board.

I would LOVE to see a separate section for Hong Kong and one for Taiwan. In fact will be visiting one of them end of the year.

I don't see one for Taiwan either.

I agree on Taiwan, but I think it should be known as "Chinese Taipei." I don't want to find Chowhound.com blocked when I am next in China ;-)
