steamed cakes using all purpose flour
I don't want to buy cake flour,can I add rice flour(to the all purpose flour) to the recipe for chinese steamed cake? and if so how much? thanks
I wouldn't but if you decide to go ahead, will you please post the result? Swansdown cake flour comes in 2lb boxes, doesn't cost a lot and keeps well.
I wouldn't recommend adding rice flour because it changes the texture of your cake. You can still use all purpose flour; it just wouldn't be as soft or light textured as it would be.
