The age-old debate. In my opinion, LATKES all the way! It really comes down to whether you're a dessert person or a meal person.

Wow, it's amazing what people can talk about! So, which one have they said has more history this far? I'd guess the hamentashen, since it plays so heavily in the story of Purim? BTW, "sivyaleah" is my hebrew name :-)

Personally tho, I'd pick latkes - with sour cream

I've never heard this debate but I don't think you have to choose. They are too different from each other. If I wanted dinner, I chose latkes. If I want desert, hamentashen. If I want a whole meal - both!

There actually is an annual debate every year which takes place at the University of Chicago, for the past 50 years and counting. The debate covers which food has a more important hitsory behind it as well as taste. It's really interesting.

I like and even have a killer recipe for hamantaschen, but I LOVE potato latkes, matzo latkes, cottage cheese latkes, latkes of any sort, all with sour cream on top and apple sauce on the side.
