How to find restaurents at a given location in Toronto

I discovered a tool to find restaurents near a specific location in Toronto. Go to this page

Just below the list of categories there are some links. If you click on "map point", it will bring up a google map. You use the popup map to find the location you want, click and Submit, and it will return a list of restaurents sorted by distance from that point. But the list is by no means exhaustive and current; I tried my home location and the 2 closest (but small) restaurents are not in their database, and one that has closed still showed up on the list.

  1. this might sound silly... but i tend to use to do things like this. i figure most, if not all restaurants, have to be listed in the yellow pages. the only issue is that you need to sift through all the burger chains but you can limit your area search to 2 km if you like. interesting way to learn about a "new" restaurant.

    1. I didn't know of this new Proximity Search on Canada411, yes it's much more accurate. Thanks!

      1. Here's a similar website: .

Just set the km radius desired, fill in a postal code and hit either the restaurants or food store buttons. The website also has an excellent mapping function.

        There's also a related website for U.S. restaurants/food stores: .

        1. Hmm, interesting but even less current. The first hit at my home's postal code lists a restaurent that has closed more than 3 years ago!
