Eats in Kensington.....

stacylyne Jun 30, 2006 01:25 PM

Grandma has recently been relocated to an assisted living in Kensington....so we find ourselves in that area quite a bit around meal time. Looking for any good eats close by....suggestions big and small??

For coffee and quick sandwiches, Cafe Monet is a nice stop. It's good but doesn't have a lot of variety. There's also the Tea Room in Old Town.

Beyond that, there's not much exciting. Never been very excited about Savannah's and the rest is pretty much cheap pizza and Chinese.

But if you're in ``downtown'' Kensington, you're very close to the hounds' haunt of Wheaton with Hollywood East on the Blvd just down University Ave. Plenty of other cheap, good ethnic choices.

Or if you head a bit west, Garrett Park is right next door with Black's Market Bistro.
