Steakhouse near Pennsylvania Convention Center?

An old friend is attending a conference next week and wants to know of any good restaurants around the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philly. Steak preferred, Italian is good too. But the number one criteria (according to him)? The closer to the convention center, the better. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

  1. Best steakhouse is Capital Grill -- about a 3-4 block walk. Closer to Convention Center is Chinatown (no Italian) and a bunch of mediocre national chains. There's an Asian fusion restaurant - Ly Michael - across the street from the Convention Center that has some good steak dishes. That's probably the closest local restaurant that has good meat and that is upscale.

    1. For steak, if you're willing to go to Rittenhouse Square, hit Barclay Prime. If that's too far, Capital Grille is next best.

      1. Thank you both! Looks like Capital Grill is the way to go. I'll check it out.
