Will be in DT Berkeley for a couple of days. Any suggestions regarding places to eat in that area or along University? Especially breakfast brunch and good reasonably priced tasty food. Ethnic is fine too.

My favorites downtown are all very reasonably priced:

Udupi Palace, vegetarian South Indian, get the thali dinner.

Cafe Tibet, great soups and mushroom momos, save room for dessert--the chef/owner used to work under Emily Luchetti.

Truly Mediterranean, falafel or schawerma wrap sandwiches, roast chicken with garlic sauce, lamb cooked with spinach.

Jupiter, brewpub with good pizza.

Tuk Tuk, pretty good Thai, open till 1am.

Cha Ya, vegan Japanese, I'm not a vegetarian but the food is really good.

The Berkeley branch of Truly Med is on Shattuck a few doors north of University. It's the biggest of the three, larger menu, only one with table service.
