Ultimate Happy Hour in DT, La Jolla, Beaches? - San Diego

okk Jun 29, 2006 08:36 PM

I'm looking for the best place to go with co-workers that has both good and cheap drinks, and decent appetizers. But the emphasis is on the drinks.

Please enlighten me gurus.

    Liars' Club, Mission Beach.

Really good and unusual pub food, and good drinks.

Friday is Local Beer night, all Locals $2.00, as well as a cask conditioned ale.

I used to go there all the time! Then I moved to Kearny Mesa and O'Brien's is my new spot.

I have no idea how the drinks are, but Roppongi's and Fresh in La Jolla both have terrific happy hour specials--50% off all the small plates/tapas from 4-6 pm every day of the week. One of the best bargains in La Jolla.

Just to let you know that I went to Fresh last week and they are no longer doing happy hour. Roppongi still is, so we went there. The crab stack was had too much fish sauce and overpowered the dish and the sauce on the scallops was not very good as well. I loved going to there for happy hour, but the quality has definitly changed IMO.

ooh, bummer. Thanks for the heads up on Fresh. Will keep our eyes on Roppongi--I hope it hasn't gone south.
