Town Hall - DC
Just got an email today from my good friends at opentable.com with their list of newly added restaurants. Included was Town Hall in Glover Park. I checked out their site and the menu looks really good and it sounds like a nice neighborhood place. Anyone been? How is it? And, is it related in any way to the one in San Francisco?
I agree with the above. I went with a group there a month or so ago. Their burger is pretty good. We had a calamari appetizer that was pretty tasty. I also had some type of skirt steak salad as an entree which was quite good.
Overall it was a pretty good experience. The food isn't too pricey so if your in the area i'd check it out. I don't think i'd make a trip from far away to go there though.
The service was rather slow though.
I have been once. It is fairly typical of upscale bars that serve better than expected food. I liken it in food quality to places such as Boulevard Woodgrill and, probably closer, Rhodeside on Wilson Blvd above Rosslyn. I had the grilled cheese appetizer with tomato soup dip and turkey pot pie and they were fine. My companion had the ribeye and sent it back to be cooked some more. The wine selection was good. The service could have been improved. The restaurant is in the back and you have to go through a bar area peopled by 20-somethings. One good thing is that they have free parking right across the street. All in all, it is not a bad place to go to if you are in the neighborhood.
