Coming to Chicago to eat...now where do we go?
We were thinking Trotters but my friend says it stinks now. He recommended Alinea. We're looking for one special, amazing, "Per Se" type dinner, one awesome dinner (that will hopefully not be as expensive) and two great lunch spots. Obviously, we love food and have no restrictions. Please help!
Regarding the lunch spots, please give us more details. Price range, cuisine, neighborhood, etc. The "where should I eat?" question is asked all the time, so if you read past posts you'll get some good ideas. Give us a little more info about what you are looking for and we can give you more helpful recommendations.
Regarding Trotters and Alinea: Trotters is extraordinary. By no means does it "stink". Here is a recent detailed review of Trotters: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/show/...
Having said that, Alinea is the new big thing in town, and I wouldn't presume to suggest one over the other (or Moto versus the other two). This is really a question of tastes, since they are quite different. There have been lengthy reviews of all three here, on lthforum.com, and egullet.com. I suggest reading these and seeing which suits your style. All are excellent, but very different. Don't let someone else's taste steer you too much.
