Fresh Wheat Pita

I am looking for fresh wheat pita. I live in Simi and travel to the SFV and old town Pasadena so anything near these areas would be great.

  1. You might want to check out the Farmer's Markets. The Friday AM Venice Market has a guy selling Mediterranean specialties including the best wheat pita I've ever had. I can't think of his name and I have not seen him at the other westside markets I've gone to [Culver SM etc] But I'll try and stop by in the next few weeks to get the info.

I'll "third" that... he's at the Studio City FM on Sunday mornings (Laurel Canyon and Ventura Pl) and has fantastic wheat pita.

    2. I haven't been there, but you might try the Follow Your Heart health food market in Canoga Park. Here's a link to their website:

      1. I usually find this at the ethnic markets on Westwood Blvd. in Westwood.

        1. Down in Orange County in such Persian markets as Behars or the Jordanian market you can get great whole wheat pita. You might also try the Wholesome Foods Market in Irvine if you're down this way.

          1. In Pasadena at Vartan's on Washington between Hill and Allen (North side), next to a burger joint. It's middle eastern market with fresh produces and dried food. They have many different kind of pitas including wheat, very cheap and fresh. Go early though since the fresh pitas are gone by 5pm sometimes. I think they get the pita from bakeries everyday.
