Tiffin Carrier

Hi, I was wondering where I can get a tiffin carrier in Toronto. And if there's any other style than the classic silver tin. Thanks in advance.

  1. I've definitely seen them in the Little India neighbourhood, which is located on Gerrard East between Greenwood & Coxwell. There are a few household stores there that will carry them, as well as other Indian kitchen accessories. This might be the time to buy your first tandoor. :)

    1. The classic silver is available at Lee Valley, but they're not really downtown.

      1. Yes, they are. There is a new store at 590 King West. Yeah!

          1. BIG Bump.

Anyone know where I can find a stainless steel, four level, with insulated bag / sleeve in Toronto ?

Man these things would be freaking awesome to take a warm gourmet lunch on a fishing / hunting / bunky trip !

Can you just imagine having this baby spread out and seeing the look on the guys face in the next boat as he's eating a wonder bread bologna sandwich ! Come-ON ! :-D

Well you could get one from Lee Valley Tools
              http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page...
But there is no cover for it though

What about looking at Bento Boxes like these?

              and

They come with a carry bag and are insulated to keep your goodies warm i am sure some of the asian markets downtown may have these or can get them in

I know this reply is obvious but I have definitely see them at Kohinoor on Gerrard in Little India - you are going to make a lot of new friends with a picnic spread using those.

Yeah, you just gotta drop in to some of the Indian stores either in the suburbs or in the city and see if they have it.

Yeah, but the reason for asking here is to hopefully find someone who has "dropped in" somewhere and noticed a nice SS 4 level insulated one so I don't have to visit all the suburbs or the city and see if they happen to have one.

Check out Fenigo - www.fenigo.com. Their Toronto store (they are based in Waterloo) is at 1199 Bloor St W. (Just W of Dufferin) and has great lunch carrier options including tiffin carriers. The site just shows a three-level, though you might give them a call to see if 4-level is an option. They have insulated cotton carrier bags for 3-tier carriers shown in the tiffin section, but they have a lot of other insulated bags that could also work. Great store.

                      Thanks everyone,

The Fenigo tiffins look really nice and I'll definitely check out Kohinoor and Lee Valley too. Thanks very much for the tips.
