Lobsters by Mail Question

Hi All:

Has anyone used any Maine lobster pounds that deliver lobsters around the country by mail? I'm on the NH Seacoast and I have a few places in mind, but I'd be thankful to learn of anyone's positive or negative experiences. Did, for example, the lobster arrive alive?

Thanks for your help.

A few years ago i ordered some lobsters from lobstersdirect? They arrived alive but they packaged it with seaweed for some reason and the seaweed had insects in it, which were also alive=(
Kind of ruined it for me!

BTW, I ordered mussels along with the lobsters and most of them were already opened and needed to be thrown out.

How awful....Did you report this to the company? I would hope that they would have replaced your order for you. I checked with my friend, and she said the seaweed was lovely and fresh...no bugs.

Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound in Trenton Maine is the best. They are Lobster fishermen, own their own pound, and ship very fresh Losters all around the country daily. Their telephone number is 207-667-2977. Enjoy and you will be very pleased.
This is the 3rd generation of Lobstermen.

I just used Maine lobsters Direct yesterday for the first time to send a friend in Maryland a couple of big ones. They were easy to use and appropriately communicative about my order. Will report back on quality/shipping condition once I hear from my friend.

Got a phone call from my friend. Lobsters arrived live -n- kickin', packed well in seaweed and cold packs. Sized as promised!

          Hello,
We've used Stonington Sea Products for the last three years to send lobsters to a relative in Arizona. They are shipped next day, alive and packed in ice. We've never had a problem placing an order online, and my brother-in-law raves about his lobsters every year! We started ordering from them after visiting Stonington and sampling their smoked seafoods, which are also excellent.
