does anyone know where the chestnut man in little tokyo went? he used to be setup in front of the mitsuwa (i think that's the name) market in the same plaza as the shabu-shabu house. i have not seen him there for a looong time and am very sad.

or does anyone know where I can find the small asian style fresh roasted chestnuts???

I remember seeing him in Little Tokyo village - the mall between 2nd and first.

If I am not mistaken, chestnuts are a winter season item.

He was selling just a few weeks ago as of late May early June

This small asian food store in Focus Plaza in San Gabriel Valley usually has fresh, hot chestnuts (I guess when they're in season?). The store is on the first floor, close to the Asian market. They also offer preserved fruits and dried meats, but the chestnuts are a favorite for customers.
