Dinner before concert on 7-5-06

  • 2

Hi all,

We are going to see the Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill concert next wednesday night for our 5 yr anniversary. We don't want to dress up to go to the concert but we want to go out to eat someplace good before the concert...I am in need of suggestions. We like just about all kinds of food. Thanks!!!

  1. My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary meal Saturday night at the Palace Cafe on Canal St. The two appetizers we shared were beyond words: the crabmeat cheesecake, a signature dish of theirs, sounds weird to the uninitiated, but let me tell you, it is a superb creation. The turtle soup is better than Commander's and Brennan's. I had the filet with blue cheese and shitakke mushrooms, and my husband had the pork porterhouse. They were both delicious. And we shared a wonderful white chocolate bread pudding for dessert.
The dress is business casual. There was a live jazz band playing. And if you are seated before seven, you can have a three-course meal for a very reasonable price. Warning: not all of the above items are on that set menu; however, the turtle soup, pork, and bread pudding are.
We loved it...hope you get to go!

    1. My wife and I like Dick and Jenny's for a nice dinner without the pretentious dress and ambiance. Wait for a table in the dining room instead of the back, no reservations.

      Here's the menu, and website.
