Carryout Crabs Around Gainesville

Looking to have crabs at my family's place out in Gainesville.

I understand there is aBBQ place in New Baltimore, Jammin Joes, that sells steamed crabs. Anyone know if they are any good? Any other suggestions out that way?

I actually live in Arlington, would it be better to pick them up some place around here and bring them with me? If so, where should I get them?

Thanks!

I've not been to JJ's in a bit, but I've heard that the beans are still the most outstanding thing there, so get them. Never knew them to do crabs, but I don't rule it out.

There's a place on rt 50 a good little bit beyond 28, on the south side of the road that does crabs. That would be a good bit closer to your destination. It's a little shack with a big sign that says Crabs.

Still, I'd recommend you pick up some live ones and steam them when you get out there. The wharf has them, and there used to be a place on Glebe just south of 395.
