Cabo Restaurant Recommendations
Hi. I'm going to Cabo in the first week of October and need two restaurant recommendations - one super cheap and one grossly expensive - for each of the following categories:
Best Authentic Mexican
Best For A Group of 20
Best For A Wedding Proposal
Hope this isn't too late but, Mi Casa in Cabo, just off the old plaza, (a couple of streets behind the main drag), is one of my favorite places. Been going there for years and I think it is one of the best 'authentic' Cabo places. Also, try Pancho's, which not only serves food, but has a wall of tequila that is unbelievable. For tacos and cheap, try The Trailer Park for the fish tacos.
Las Missiones is a great, off-the-beaten-path restaurant with a garden dining area in Cabo. Hard to explain where it is (near Cabo Wabo) but you can ask around.
For a wedding proposal, speaking as a recent recipient of such, get OUT of Cabo. Drive to Todos Santos for the day, spend the day wandering deserted beaches and cute artist-colony shops, and pop the question at Cafe Santa Fe. You'll probably want to spend the night in TS (if you do, the most swooningly romantic, weak-in-the-knees spot I've actually seen in Mexico is the Todos Santos Inn www.todossantosinn.com) but you don't have to if you really want to get back for whatever reason. In fact, TSI also has an intimate wine bar in beautiful gardens that would also be a great proposal spot. Good luck! :)
On other posts, it is stated that Cafe Sante Fe in TS in closed in Oct. as well as Sept. Too bad for me too, because we also are going the 1st week of Oct. We are taking Maya's suggestion and having dinner one night at Las Missiones de Kino when there will be only about 8 of us, but I couldn't talk the others into saving that place for one of our 2 18-person 50th b/day celebration dinners. Those will probably be at Edith's and The Office, over my objections.
