lunch in Van Nuys
Have to be in Van Nuys Tuesday, in the area of Victory and Van Nuys Blvd.. Any decent places for a quick lunch?

Super Pollo, right near Victory and Van Nuys, next to the La Opinión office. Best rotisserie chicken ever.
There's also Duk Su Jang, which isn't bad Korean food (it's not Koreatown quality, but noplace in the Valley is), on Van Nuys and Sherman Way.
There's a Oaxacan restaurant a few doors west of Van Nuys on Vanowen, and the same distance west of Victory is a little taco shack called Don somebody's (Don Felix?) that's also pretty good. A little east, on Victory and Kester (SW corner) is the place to get cemitas poblanas, and also there's a place just north of Victory on the west side of Van Nuys, next to one of the ubiquitous shoe stores that sells good bionicos.

Lana Thai 1 block N at Ventura and V.N. is great and has lunch specials. Boba World is inside too. I love their tea/taro combo boba. Across the street same side S is Hamburger Hamlet, next to Lana Thai is Olivia 4449 Van Nuys Blvd. Then Sollys/Jerry's is in the Gelson's shopping center NE (across the street) and if you're hurting, there's always In/Out right on the corner NE. Have fun!

When I'm in that general vicinity, I never fail to choose Fab's Italian Kitchen on Van Nuys Blvd, a block South of Ventura Blvd. Their lunch menu includes sandwiches, pastas, pizzas, and soups. Although not on the menu, I invariably gobble up a pretty good size order of clams oreganata, then sop up the heavily garlic-infused sauce with their sourdough rolls, and then I go breathe on somebody and watch their reaction.
