Dinner next Thursday in Healdsburg
My boyfriend and I are visiting fm NYC and will be staying in Healdsburg next Thursday....looking for a place with a low key (though not too casual) atmostphere and delicious food. Cyrus sounds like too much of an event for us. He's also been to Charlie Palmer's Dry Creek at the Hotel Healdsburg, but we want something with a more charming, less fussy atmosphere. From reading past postings, I like the sound of Willi's Raw Bar and Santi, but wonder if there might be others that I'm missing. Have read mixed reviews of Ravenous and Zin's....Any current points of view much appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for the reccomendations! We ended up at Santi, and it was a lovely night. The garden was perfect.
Had a delicious sardine crostini to start and a pasta dish with ragu that was pretty good. Great bottle of Londboard Syrah...My dining companion was less satisfied with his meal, but still overall it was a great experience.

I have to put in a vote for Zin - in 3+ visits, we've always had a great time.
Theirs is a tasty, approachable ingredient-driven menu with very reasonable markups on their terrific wine selection. Of course, DH & I are Zin freaks, so we're a bit biased WRT their tastings & flights. The tempura green beans are a terrific accompaniment for said filghts, too. Service does seem to be their weak point - it was casual bordering on inattentive, but always extremely friendly. Lots of locals were there on our visits, which I take to be a good sign. It was fun to go there one night and have the waiter nod across the room to the guy who made the wine he was pouring. For a low-key but quality night out, I'd highly recommend this place. -
