Dinner near 39th St and Lexington?

I would be grateful for any rec's for restaurants within walking distance of 39th Street and Lexington Ave. I'm interested in any kind of food - as long as it is good and not outrageously expensive. I need to take a visitor out tonight - Monday. Thanks!

Ethos (Greek, 3d Ave between 33d and 34th) and Ali Baba (Turkish, 34th between 2d and 3d Aves) are very good.

Definitely try Cibo on 4lst and 2nd Avenue. They have a very reasonably priced (and delicious) prix fixe in a very attractive setting.

Fagiolini - Italian, corner of 39th and Lex, very moderately priced, local scene, food is really good. I used to live up the block and went there all the time. One of my favs in the neighborhood.

I would go with Rare Bar & Grill in the Shelbourne hotel, like 37th-38th and lex, for some of the best burgers in the city, or, to Docks, 40th and 3rd, for some pretty good seafood

Not sure what you mean by "not outrageously expensive" or what type of place you're looking for, but my default rec in that area would be Szechuan Gourmet on 39th between 5th and 6th. Quite good szechuan food, if you like that!
