What's the Pink Teacup and what's Maroon's???

what are these joints and what kind of food?

and also is pink teacup, a standby, that's been there for many, many years?

also, addresses of the joints, and the section of the city they're in would be great.

    1. The reason you probably have these two restaurants lumped together is that both serve soul food in unlikely places -- PT in the West Village, Maroons in Chelsea.

Pink Teacup has been around for more than 30 years, and serves old-school soul food. Maroons also serves Jamaican food, has a full bar, and offers a much wider menu. I haven't been to PT in years; I like Maroons a lot.

      1. Maroons is fantastic for brunch as well as for dinner. I prefer the southern to the Jamaican side of the menu, which I think can be a little uneven. Great comfort food, including fried chicken, meatloaf, grits, waffles, and great desserts. If you go to www.menupages.com, you can find address and menu information (as well as links to websites) for Maroons and Pink Tea Cup, among many other NY restaurants.

        1. Pink Teacup has great breakfasts.

          1. I haven't been to Pink Teacup, but I can tell you that Maroons is fantastic. Their jerk chicken is juicy, tender, and moist and their mac 'n cheese is rich and hearty with a nice spicy kick. I absolutely love Maroons!
