My kids(17,14 &11) and I will be visiting Salem in July and will go to the aquarium in Boston one of the days. I need suggestions for lunch nearby.

  1. the easy answer is Legal Seafood, directly across from the Aquarium. Sel de la Terre is far more intersting and also right there or you could walk to Fanuiel Hall (about 3 minutes) and have several other choices from Smith and Wollensky to Kingfish Hall or a million others

    1. The North End is an easy walk. Pizzeria Regina for delicious thin crust pizza. Antico Forno for a nice lunch. Stroll for desserts at Modern Pastry and sip cappacino at Caffee Graffetti.

      1. North End would be good (also Galleria Umberto for starchy snacky stuff--arancini, pizzette, pan pizza, etc.). Or excellent Turkish food at Sultan's Kitchen on State near Broad, only a few tables but you could get takeout and take to the waterfront (or the ferry to and from Charlestown Navy Yard, if a boat ride appeals). Many cold options. Try the special appetizer assortment.

        1. My favorite in that neighborhood is Sel de la Terre, which does a nice lunch menu of rustic, Southern French/Provencal food. It's not cheap ($19 3-course prix fixe at lunch, plus an a la carte menu), but a fair value. There's a brunch mid-day on weekends, also very good.

          1. I'd add Volle Nolle in the North End for sandwiches.

            1. Thank you all for your suggestions.I ate at Durgin Park when I was there as a teenager(many moons ago) with my parents. I would appreciate some opinions on how it is now. Also we will be staying right outside of Salem. Any place to eat we should not miss there?
