User Tracking option

Notorious EMDB Jun 25, 2006 02:07 AM

Is this working yet? I would like to CH-stalk some of my favorite posters, but it doesn't seem to be working yet. FWIW, I use Firefox as my browser-- when I click on the hound's name, as instructed in the my CHOW box regarding User Tracking, I don't get directed to the correct place.

Thanks

Make sure the user name you want to track is underlined when it displays anywhere. You may notice that all of the posts imported from the old board do not have the user name underlined. The underlining indicates that it is a registered name, registered on the new board. You should be able to track registered users.

Ok, but could someone explain this a little more?

I got that the [x] next to the name is the way to delete someone being tracked.

I decided to track Ruth because she posts often enough, but not too often to be able to follow how tracking works.

      HOWEVER ...

      1. When I click on her name, I get a list of her posts with the 'new' flag. After reading it, the flag remains unchanged.

Not only that, when I return to the board where the post originated, the 'new' flag remains on the post even though I read it.

I'm guessing this is a glitch otherwise explain how this is a useful feature? I can just click any name that is registered and see a list of their posts.

      2. I'm having the same situation deleting a user name as I had deleting bookmarked posts. I delete the tracked user. It disappears. The next time I get back to 'My Chow' the deleted user is still in the list. Is there some sort of time lag for this?

I reported the same problem with My Chow here -

You might want to go to that Feedback topic and let 'em know what OS and browser your're using.

Thanks. I guess I need to read through all the site talk posts. I wasn't sure if that was what was supposed to happen or a bug which is why I asked here first. Since you already reported it, don't think I need to add anything. Thanks again.
