Typos in titles (and how to correct them)

Robert Lauriston Jun 25, 2006 12:41 AM

With the old software, we could deal with typos in titles by appending the correct spelling.

Can't do that now. What's the new drill?

This came up during the beta period and iirc, the decision was made to not allow changes in the titles.

P.S. I emailed the mods to ask if they could correct "Slicks" on the SF board.

We'll probably be seeing more title typos than before since there's no preview.

OTOH, since search actually works now, typos in titles won't be as big of a deal since you won't have to be doing all that CTRL+F searching. As long as the typo is corrected in the body of the post, it won't make much difference in finding the content.

The title is editable by the person who created the original post. Just click on it to edit.

Oh, that's way cool -- it doesn't even seem to be time-limited like the posts themselves! Perhaps there's a tutorial somewhere that could clue us in on some of these hidden features?
