A hint about scrolling (may be browser specific)

I'm not sure how specific to a browser this is, but many browsers allow you to press the space bar to scroll down the page. It's pretty handy now that things are so spread out here.

my computer makes huge jumps when I do this. is there a way to slow it down?

I don't know about slowing it down. But while it makes big jumps on my computer, the amount of space it skips is just less than one screen view. I use the "replies" link to open a thread and take me directly to where the replies start, then read or scan what's in view all the way to the bottom of the screen, hit the space bar and it takes me to the next group of text to read, and so on. It's not skipping over any part of text that I haven't had a chance to read.

Amazing that I've never stumbled onto this. But it works on my version of I.E. and Firefox.
