Add Louisiana to New Orleans

I've never understood why the New Orleans board doesn't include Louisiana. Yes, in a strictly geographic sense it fits into the South. From a culinary perspective, the regional cuisine of Louisiana is distinct from the South.

I suspect that most out of town chowseekers don't understand the difference between Creole and Cajun. The many tourists who post on the New Orleans board would be well served by also seeing info about Cajun country, which is often a frequent day trip for visitors.

I agree. I live in NE LA and I don't feel I really have a local board. The south board rarely covers anything about LA. So infrequentely in fact that I never look at the south board.

Okay I just noticed that the new South board doesn't even include Louisiana. So I do not have a home board. Sad.

Hear, hear! What he said. Can't the board be re-titled "New Orleans & Louisiana"? I made this argument directly after Hurricane Katrina, but it is just as valid today.

I have read a number of your helpful comments for quite a while. I don't respond as often as you so I thought a place you might check out as a suggestion to those looking for a place similar to the old lakefront seafood restaurants is called Peavine's. We have brought lots of friends there and they love it.

It's North on Highway 51 (not I-55) out of La Place. About a mile past the I-10 exit is Peavine Road. The restaurant is at the end of the road on Lake Ponchatrain. Let us know what you think.
