The header says it includes Mexico and Costa Rica, neither of which are located in South America.

Perhaps "Latin America" would suffice...

Latin America would include Mexico, Cuba, and other countries not in South or Central America.

I also find it interesting that Canada is "separate" from North America -- in the map at least.

At least Quebec is still part of Canada!
