Hunter College Lunch Take-Out?

gracey Jun 24, 2006 05:38 AM

Does anyone know of cheapish to moderately-priced ($15 and under, if possible) take-out lunch options near Hunter, i.e. sandwiches, drink, and fruit/pastry/salad, type of place. Thanks!

Burger Heaven down lexington avenue from Hunter is pretty reasonable. I eat there sometimes and they just don't serve burgers only.

I had a very decent lunch here at Asia Grill. The Vietnamese soups are pretty good.

Sounds like Hale and Hearty (on Lexington bet 64th & 65th) has pretty much what you're looking for. In fact I think it's better for takeout than for eating in b/c seating is very cramped.

There's also a good Middle Eastern takeout place (Turquoise?) about a block or two north of Hunter that is in your price range too.

2nd Corrado which has pleasant outdoor seating....Si Caffe, just a few doors north, has some of the best coffee in the city + sandwiches & salads in a stylish setting...for a few $$$ more, Payard on Lex between 73rd & 74th has superb sandwiches of the highest quality in a super elegant setting....Neil's Coffee shop on Lex & 70th is a long-time neighborhood stand-by & serves the deli usuals in a bustling New York-y ambiance....

I like Corrado for sandwiches and pastries on the corner of 69 St & Lex. Ave.
