Coffee Spare Ribs? Near San Mateo preferably

The Apollo on El Camino at 25th had a dish called Coffee Spare Ribs that was wonderful. Now that the restaurant is gone, where can I find Coffee Spare Ribs?

  1. I've noticed this dish at "Malaysian" restaurants, such as the one in SF Chinatown on Washington Street directly across from Portsmouth Square. You might want to post asking for coffee spareribs in you subject line instead of a defunct restaurant to attract more replies.

    1. Thanks, I couldn't figure out what to title it -- I guess I'm tired.

      1. I'm not being a help here so I hope someone else can clarify this. Doesn't Myth or Range or one of those places have some sort of coffee meat? Maybe that might satisfy your craving. Though I think it was some sort of shoulder not ribs.

        1. Koi Palace in Daly City serves a coffee spare ribs dish as part of their dim sum. It usually comes in a big coffee mug and has a bit of cream on top. Very yummy :)
